Bothaina is a tribute to timeless femininity, inspired by the legendary muse who captured Jamel’s heart.

It opens with tender floral notes that bloom gently, revealing a heart full of elegance, and settles into a delicate, lasting trail.

When Jamel saw Bothaina herding his family's camels. Bothaina came with her camels to fetch water, and Jamel's camels were startled. He cursed her, but Bothaina refused to remain silent and responded. Instead of getting angry, he admired her and found her cursing enjoyable. He fell in love with her, and she loved him. He said of her:

The first thing that led to affection between us

                  In the valley of Bagheedh, Bothaina was cursing.

So we said something to her, and she responded with the same.

                  For every word, Bothaina, there is an answer.

From that day, Bothaina captured his heart, and he began writing poetry for her, sometimes mentioning her name and sometimes giving her a different nickname. Their fame spread throughout the tribe, and news of their relationship spread beyond the tribe. News of their relationship continued to spread, and poetry continued to spread, until his name became associated with hers, and her name with it. He was given the nickname Jamel, and their love continued from their early childhood. They would meet in the pastures where Jamel would compose poems about her.

The Beginning of the End: Jamel proposed to her, but her father vehemently refused, fearing that the shame of their daughter, who had violated their customs and loved a young man who had been infatuated with her and mentioned her in his poetry, would befall them. A war broke out between Jamel and her family, and they even complained to the governor, who demanded his immediate release and declared his blood a sharable offense if he entered their homes. He recited verses about this, saying:

If only there were men among you who had vowed to shed my blood
And intended to kill me, O Bothaina! They would meet me
When they saw me emerging from a hillock
They would say: Who is this? They knew me.

After that incident and the slandering of his reputation by her family, Jamel tried hard to restore the bonds of love and communication with Bothaina, but he failed. When he despaired, he traveled to Egypt, where he remained until his death. As he lay dying, he called a man and told him, "All my money will be yours if I die, on the condition that you take my cloak and a letter to Bothaina." The contents of the letter were sad verses, in which he said:

The news of the death has broken, but it was not Jamel's.

                 He settled in Egypt, a place that would not return.

And he dragged his tail in the Valley of Villages.

                  Intoxicated among farms and palm trees.

The news of the death of a knight of ambition has come early.

                  A hero who, when the heat of the encounter grows, will trail his tail.

Rise, Bothaina, and wail with wailing.

                  And weep for your friend more than any other friend.

Jamel died, and the man traveled to the city where Bothaina lived and told her that he had died.

She left, uncovered, terrified!

She said, "If you are lying, then you have exposed me."

And if you are telling the truth, then you have killed me.

He said, "By Allah, I am telling the truth," and he gave her the letter. She recited the painful verses and fell unconscious.

When she awoke, she recited verses that said:

Even if I am consoled by Jamel for an hour

                  Of the world, its time has not come, nor has it come

It is the same to us. Jamel bin Muammar

                  If you die, with the hardships and softness of life

Inspiration: Embodying the historical significance of the Hijaz and the great events that took place there, which established platonic love for us, a type of love characterized by purity and chastity, where love is emotional and spiritual more than physical.
